Best things are right behind the corner

I want to believe and I want to manifest it. Looking to future with curious artist’s eyes.

The Language of Flowers 2, 2022

In this work I have used Ranunculus, Fritillaria meleagris, Iris, Helleborus and Primula. These flowers are almost all whole sale flowers from Kukkatoimitus. They are grown in Europe. Primula is bought from Pukinmäen Puutarha. Those ranunculus are my dear retired flowers, they are about 3 weeks old. That is the reason how I get them look so thick and layered.

This year is a year I really don’t know what kind of it will be and I guess we all can share this feeling. I created my online shop www.kreettakreetta.com to support my artist career so hopefully during this year I am working more as an artist/designer than commercial/magazine photographer. I am happy about my career but I want to be thrilled about it! My online shop opened in June 2021. Last year was a time of bringing more fine art photography there and this year I have plans that there will be also new digital products in my online shop. I have been a photographer since 2005 and the year 2014 was a turning point for me when I began my freelancer career. I hope this year 2023 will be the year when I can really work for my artistry.

The Language of Flowers 1, 2022

There are slow flowers grown by Monosilla Garden, Tulips, Forget-Me-Nots and Poppies from my own garden. Those two Ranunculus are whole sale flowers and they are grown in Europe. They are actually quite old and this is a reason why they look super fluffy and layered. I would say they are about 3-4 weeks old. You can also see Tulip that has flame like stripes on its petals. It has a virus and this virus is a very famous one. You must read story about Tulip Mania, the first economical bubble in the world in Netherlands in 17th century.

No matter what I have a very good feeling and this year begins with exciting news. On 18th of Jan my new postal stamp designs were released at the main post office in Helsinki’s city center. I also added these two designs to my online shop as fine art prints.

I designed these postal stamps for Posti .

The project began in the winter 2022. These stamps are named The Language Of The Flowers.

These stamps are sold only in Finland and because of that I decided to create fine art prints from these two designs. They are now in my online shop.

These two designs are a little bit different compared to my previous work. There are less flowers and they are horizontal. The reason is the small size of the postal stamp. It was quite challenge to make something so different. No layered flowers and vertical form. It was a very interesting journey and I learned a lot and I love how I had to challenge myself. One of the designs I made for the stamps will be in my upcoming exhibition Flora Favola in Poikilo museum. There will be 20 new photography works and two installation. That is the biggest exhibition I ever had. I hope you have time and possibility to come and see the exhibition. With me there is Heikki Marila’s gorgeous paintings. I am a big fan of his work. So this exhibition means a lot to me. Exhibition is open 21.9.2023 -7.1. 2024.

I wish you wonderful beginning of the year ! I also want to thank you each and everyone who has supported me and bought my works and puzzles from my online shop www.kreettakreetta.com You made my day.

xoxo
