Oh Marie, 2020 Beauty of wilting Raunculus, fading colors and texture of fleeting time

This artwork I created in 2022. I was working for Flora Favola exhibition. This artwork wasn’t in final selection then but I was super happy when set designer Marie Antikainen asked from me if I like to make a collaboration with Kuopio City Theatre. When she told me about Marie Antoinette play I knew in second why I had made this photo. It had been waiting this moment. So Oh Marie had a very strong destiny like the heroine in this play. Old withering Ranunculus has a special place in my heart too. Marie Antoinette is performed in Kuopio City Theatre. Premiere is 9.11.24. This play will be in their repertoire until May 2025.

The Paper

Hahnemühle Hemp uses one of the oldest and most diverse natural fibres in the world and is made of 60% hemp fibre. The FineArt inkjet paper’s base impresses with its bright white natural tone, and thanks to the bright white colour of the hemp fibres, no optical brighteners are required. The lightly textured surface gives the paper a pleasant, silky feel. Paper is matt.
