What’s The Story?

RUM UTE magazine cover by Kreetta Järvenpää

Very creative way to use my horizontal floral art photography, love it. This photo is originally a postal stamp design for Posti and it was released in January 2023.

March is here. I thought it is time to make a new journal post. There are many things happening at the moment. RUM UTE magazine just came out and I was honored to be on their cover. I was interviewed and I just love the headline of the story you can see below. The magazine is in Swedish but here’s my free translation in English: About life, death and plants anarchy. I just love flowers and plants how they have their own way to grow, bend, behave, wilt and dry.

Here I am at my workspace. All these flowers are slow flowers and they were grown at Vihreän Oksan Werstas. This year we continue our co-work, can’t wait! Maybe something new coming up too!

Below you can see a spread of the story in the RUM UTE magazine. So rich and super plentiful power by flowers. If you like to read the magazine you can also order digital one easily here.

We did move in February and I have taken a lot of perennials with me from our previous home garden. I also planted plenty of tulips in pots. Some of you might know I’m not a very good gardener (trying to learn though!) so I really hope some of them will survive. We haven’t bought a house yet we rented a house with garden so I can’t plant them this spring. It is not so easy to find a new home and of course the time isn’t the easiest one either.

If you love my work, this year is a very good one to make an investment and support the artist. In September my exhibition Flora Favola in Poikilo museum will have 20 new works. Only few of them is shown before the exhibition. I am very excited about it and also very busy too. I have done 10 works and that means I’ve photographed 20 but only ten is fine with me, haha. So you can imagine I’ll be quite busy before the exhibition with art photography and photographic work for customers. Also few gardens are photographed next summer. I guess I can say my life will be full of flowers in a near future.

This work is called Dear June I, 2022. It is filled with different kind of shapes, colors, textures. All those wide open tulips and apple blossoms amaze me every early summer. It was wonderful to have a cover photo on In My Kitchen Out of Eden’s magazine. It is published by lovely Niram Watthanasit. He lives in Bangkok. It is very beautiful lifestyle magazine with quality content and it is sold in different places all over our dear planet.

Next week I will begin to paint new canvas. Is it a painting or background to my floral art - can’t tell you yet. Next week I have also grant deadline and I have began a new co-work with talented artisans. I give you a tip and that is - I need a pencil and paper. I love designing and super happy I can continue that after postal stamps. Oh almost forgot! You can buy my postal stamps world wide here.
